Modern Slavery Statement
Camden Town Cleaners Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Camden Town Cleaners has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and to protect the rights and dignity of everyone who works with or for us.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Camden Town Cleaners maintains a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. This commitment applies to every aspect of our operations, including direct employment, agency work, subcontracted services and procurement of goods and materials. No commercial objective will ever justify practices that undermine fundamental human rights.
All directors, managers and employees are expected to act with integrity and to support this policy. We also expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors and business partners. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter that may result in termination of contracts or working relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Camden Town Cleaners provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial clients. Our workforce includes directly employed staff and vetted subcontractors. Our supply chains include providers of cleaning products, equipment, uniforms, facilities services and recruitment support.
We recognise that some sectors, territories and roles may carry a higher risk of exploitation. We therefore focus our due diligence and monitoring efforts on those areas, seeking transparency and cooperation from all parties involved in the delivery of our services.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We require all suppliers to confirm that they comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights legislation and that they do not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking in their operations. Our supplier onboarding process includes ethical screening and assessment of working conditions where relevant.
Camden Town Cleaners conducts periodic audits of key suppliers, which may include requests for documentation, self-assessment questionnaires and, where appropriate, site visits. These audits are designed to verify compliance with our standards on wages, working hours, freedom of movement, health and safety, and the prohibition of forced or child labour.
If an audit identifies concerns, we work with the supplier to agree a corrective action plan and timescales. Where serious or repeated non-compliance is found, we reserve the right to suspend or end the commercial relationship.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
We provide training and guidance for managers, supervisors and relevant staff on recognising signs of modern slavery, understanding our policies and knowing how to respond to concerns. Awareness materials are used to reinforce the message that everyone has a role to play in identifying and preventing exploitation.
Camden Town Cleaners encourages all employees, subcontractors and suppliers to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery, whether within our own operations or in our supply chains. Concerns can be raised in person with a manager, through internal reporting mechanisms or via any other agreed channel that ensures confidentiality.
All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly. We seek to protect anyone who raises a concern in good faith from any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement and other competent authorities.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that addressing modern slavery risks is an ongoing process. Camden Town Cleaners is committed to continually improving our policies, procedures and due diligence activities in light of experience, feedback, legislation and best practice.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the leadership team to assess its effectiveness and to identify areas for enhancement. The review considers audit findings, reported concerns, changes in our supply chains and developments in regulatory requirements. Any necessary updates to our controls or training programmes are implemented as part of this annual review cycle.
This statement reflects Camden Town Cleaners’ current approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains and demonstrates our commitment to responsible and ethical operations.
